LocationLocated at the tip of the Australian east coast, Victoria is Australia's second-smallest state. Victoria has a wealth of diverse regional areas and attractions, from national parks and forests teeming with wildlife, to wineries, lakes and mountains offering skiing, climbing, and hiking.
Deakin University has 4 campuses in 3 locations throughout Victoria. Two campuses are in Geelong. Set against the blue backdrop of Corio Bay and almost surrounded by water, Geelong is Victoria's largest regional city. It is also only an hour's drive or train trip from Melbourne.
The Waurn Ponds campus, hosting 4,500 students, is six miles outside the city and a fifteen minutes' drive from some of the best surf beaches in the world including Bells Beach. Students also have access to a recreation centre, a gymnasium and a selection of bars, cafes and restaurants. A regular bus service runs between this campus and the Geelong city centre.
The Geelong Waterfront campus is Deakin's newest campus. It is located on the foreshore of Corio Bay, in the central business district of Geelong. Originally built in 1893, the buildings have been extensively renovated to create a modern campus.

Program DatesAcademic year: mid-February to November; Semester 1: mid-February to early July; Semester 2: mid-July to November. Please note that this site observes the Southern Hemisphere academic calendar. If you want to study for a full-year in the southern hemisphere, consider starting your program at the beginning of their academic year in February or March. Some institutions offer annual rather than semester courses. For southern hemisphere programs, ISEP benefits do apply during the recess between semesters (June-July), whereas they do NOT apply between the end of one academic year and the beginning of a new academic year (December to February-March).
ProgramsThe Waurn Ponds campus offers biological sciences, business, chemical sciences, computing, education, engineering, humanities (including Australian studies, communications, history, journalism, psychology, public relations, social work), law, and social sciences.
The School of Architecture and Building, and the School of Nursing are located at the Waterfront campus.
Housing and MealsStudents are housed in single-occupancy rooms in on-campus residences with communal kitchens, bathrooms, and recreational facilities. The ISEP-Direct program in Australia does not include meals.
Student ActivitiesStudents have access to academic, administrative and support services, a 24-hour computer laboratory, a recreation center, and sports fields and facilities at the WaurnPonds Campus.

ISEP-Exchange programs allow students to participate in reciprocal exchanges with students at ISEP member institutions worldwide, while paying their home university tuition. Students attending US universities that are ISEP-Exchange members are eligible to apply for these programs at other international ISEP-Exchange member universities. Chances of placement vary by location.
ISEP-Direct programs allow students to enroll directly in a host institution abroad, instead of exchanging places with another student. Chances of placement are typically excellent for qualified applicants and some sites offer special academic programs and excursions. Students attending US universities that are either ISEP-Exchange members or ISEP-Direct members can participate in ISEP-Direct programs abroad.
