Do you have 6 months validity remaining on your passport?
Many countries require that your U.S. passport have as much as 6 months validity remaining for entry. If your passport doesn't have the required validity, renew it today to avoid the cost and stress of waiting until the last minute or being denied entry. It is the student's responsibility to ensure that you are traveling with a valid passport.

Have you insured your study abroad investment with trip cancellation/interruption coverage?
Please be aware that the Virginia Tech's CISI coverage is travel medical and security insurance coverage for the duration of your program dates. CISI is not trip interruption or cancellation insurance nor are there provisions for loss of personal belongings. As you make preparations to study abroad and begin to make a financial commitment to your program, it’s highly encouraged that you, the traveler, also purchase trip cancellation/interruption insurance. Vendor options can be found by conducting a Google search for “trip cancellation insurance.”
